Complexity of stamping process: If it is a simple stamping task, such as ordinary metal sheet punching and blanking, a mechanical press is sufficient. It has a relatively simple structure and is affordable, and can meet the daily large-scale basic stamping operations. But for complex forming processes, such as stretch forming of automotive covers, hydraulic presses are more suitable. The hydraulic press has a stable pressure output and can accurately control the pressure and speed to ensure the forming quality of complex-shaped workpieces.
Production batch size: For small-batch production, a small general-purpose press can be selected, which has high flexibility, convenient debugging, and low equipment investment cost. If facing large-scale production, a high-speed press is an ideal choice. For example, in the stamping production of electronic components, a high-speed press can complete hundreds of stampings per minute, greatly improving production efficiency and reducing the production cost of a single piece.
Workpiece size and material: For processing large workpieces, a press with a large work surface and high pressure tonnage is required. For difficult-to-process materials such as high-strength alloy steel, the press is required to have a larger pressure output and good rigidity. On the contrary, a small press with moderate pressure is sufficient for processing thin non-ferrous metals or plastics.
